The "Hydraulic Risk" project we were commissioned by Brianzacque aims to decrease the risk of flooding by studying the urban drainage system in all its components.
According to Regional Regulation R.R. 7/2017 Art. 14, municipalities that fall in high and medium hydraulic criticality area (A and B) are required to prepare the Municipal Hydraulic Risk Management Study to identify the current risk conditions arising from the contributions of both water and sewerage network.
For the province of Monza and Brianza, the study was carried out considering 53 municipalities in the province, with the collaboration of the Università Statale di Milano, Università Bicocca (Milan) and the Università di Brescia.
New features compared to previous studies are: the integrated two-dimensional sewer-water network hydraulic model using Infoworks ICM hydraulic modeling software and the identification of structural and non-structural interventions, with the possibility of implementing them as NBS Works.
