Orange Viaduct Investigation Plan

Framework Agreement the execution of executive design services related to extraordinary maintenance works of bridges, viaducts and tunnels (2018) between ANAS S.p.A. and A.T.I. consisting of 3TI PROGETTI ITALIA - INGEGNERIA INTEGRATA S.p.A. as the lead contractor, PINI SWISS ENGINEERS S.A.- PINI GROUP S.r.l., ARCHITECNA ENGINEERING S.r.l. and J+S S.p.A.

Definitive and Executive Design regarding seismic improvement works, with structural consolidation and superficial and deep restoration of the deteriorated concrete of the Arancio viaduct located at km 297+730 - S.S. 1 Aurelia.

Subject of the first phase (PHASE A): plan of geognostic, geotechnical, geophysical and structural investigations to be conducted on the Orange Viaduct in order to identify the characteristics of the structural elements and the degradation conditions of the structure. The cognitive path of the viaduct structures is developed in accordance with the "Guidelines for Risk Classification and Management, Safety Assessment and Monitoring of Existing Bridges" prepared by the Superior Council of Public Works. Parallel to the preparation of the investigation plan, the survey of the route and structures was carried out.

The Arancio viaduct is located in the territory of the province of Livorno at km 297+730 of the SS1 "Aurelia," which connects the cities of Grosseto and Livorno. The viaduct, commissioned by ANAS, was built in the early 1970s by the construction company "Lorenzini Natale" of Grosseto. The work curves for a total length of 360 m over 8 spans of 45.00 m span each. The deck is made of 4 prestressed concrete beams and concrete collaborating slab.
