The intervention is developed within the extension works to the fourth dynamic lane of the A4 Turin-Venice freeway, in the section between the Viale Certosa interchange and the Sesto San Giovanni interchange. The works include the construction of an antiphonic tunnel, with a total development of about 435 m, consisting of three sections that differ in geometry and construction type. The first and third trunks, made of inclined span trusses connected transversely by a series of floor and vertical braces, have a purely sound-absorbing function, while, the second trunk, consisting of a mixed steel-concrete structure deck, is designed for the transit of moving loads related to 1st category bridges. The substructures are made of reinforced concrete walls founded on foundations composed of micropiles. The Tunnel, in addition to mitigating the acoustic impact of the roadway, provides a fire-resistant ceiling in the lower part.
