For the reduction of flooding phenomena that occurred in the territory of the municipality of Arcore, the agreement for the preliminary, final and executive design (ex. D.Lgs. 50/2016) of a lamination basin on the Rio Molgorana was initiated.

The design of the basin, supervised and managed by J+S, was developed through the construction of a hydraulic model in the Infoworks ICM environment, which allowed to simulate the integrated effects of the flows conveyed by the Rio Molgorana itself and the meteoric flows drained into the sewers. The design solution is represented by the construction of a flywheel tank built completely in excavation, with a volume of about 16,000 m3, located in the area west of the Roccolo hamlet in Arcore, on the left bank of the Rio Molgorana. The tank consists of an intake structure, formed by a selective weir for limiting flows downstream and a surmountable side sill for sending flood waters to the tank, both lined with stones.

In relation to its insertion into the surrounding context, the project favored the aspect of a "collected landscape element," a kind of "room" enclosed by the curtain formed by the existing forest, enhancing the perception of a green area enclosed by tree-lined wings. It was also planned to create a bicycle path with an equipped area, a relaxation area and a permanent wetland area at the bottom of the pond, also with the inclusion of hygrophilous vegetation.
