Construction Project for upgrading the A9 Motorway in the Lainate - Como section, from Km 11 to Km 34; involves widening from two to three lanes plus emergency lane, for a total development of about 23 km.
The project includes the modernization of the A8/A9 Interconnection with the elimination of the Como-Milan left-hand entry of the Como-Milan ramp on the northbound carriageway of the A8 freeway.
The planned interventions are:
- Functional adaptation of the Lainate interconnection between A8 and A9;
- new junction of Origgio-Uboldo
- new Lomazzo junction
- adaptation No. 5 existing interchanges
- demolition of No. 14 overpasses
- construction No. 2 viaducts
- construction of No. 10 overpasses
- No. 12 underpass extensions
- construction of No. 1 underpass
- Extension of No. 2 railroad underpasses
- construction of No. 6 bicycle and pedestrian crossings
- Laying of 34 km of piping for platform water collection
- Construction of No. 11 water treatment plants
- installation of 14 km of noise barriers
- Construction of 750,000 square meters of asphalt paving
