The intervention involves the simultaneous construction of a new section of the Monza North district heating network and the footbridge that allows it to bypass the Milan-Como railway line. The activities covered by the project briefly consist of the following:
- Construction of a mixed-use footbridge at km 14+581.90 on the Milan-Como-Chiasso railway line (in the municipal territory of Monza) and related approach embankments and bicycle/pedestrian path; The footbridge has deck structure consisting of 2 prestressed concrete beams formed in an "L" shape, which will be connected in place by laying predalles-type slabs and integrative casting to form the main slab on which the district heating pipes will be laid.
- Laying of 2 district heating pipes (supply and return) of service pipe diameter DN 250 mm (outer diameter of polyethylene insulation 400 mm) will be contained in special counter pipes DN 500 mm resting on the deck slab.
- Execution of restoration and finishing of the intervention areas, including green works and lighting system.
The new section of the district heating network, as an extension of the network supplied by the Acsm-Agam "Monza Nord" plant in Via Cadore (located just north of the San Gerardo hospital), will allow sections of the network that have long been prepared as urbanization works in and around Montevecchia streets to be put into operation, and to serve, among other things, the buildings of the new institutional hub of the Province of Monza and Brianza.
