The assignment is for the final design and construction supervision of about twenty-five relining interventions in different municipalities of the province of Monza and Brianza. The interventions consist in the rehabilitation of deteriorated sewer sections for which replacement by the classical method with excavation would otherwise be necessary. Thanks to this type of technology it is possible to avoid replacing the existing pipe. It is done by inserting inside the pipe a liner (called Liner) composed of a fiberglass/fabric carrier and impregnated with an epoxy resin. The liner is inflated until it adheres to the host pipeline and consequently hardened through the use of steam, water, or through UV radiation with special lamps.
The installation of such new "pipes," which have excellent qualities of structural strength (not just waterproofing) not only saves a great deal of time, but more importantly in most cases ensures fewer emissions into the atmosphere, providing durability that usually far exceeds fifty years of useful life.
The final design activity took place in 2020 and currently almost all the interventions covered by the assignment received are nearing completion. In particular, the executive phase sees J+S in the role of Works Management in accordance with DM 49/2019 and Legislative Decree 50/2016. The activity involves the control and acceptance of the materials used, verification of the quality of the works, accounting, technical compliance of the works with the executive project and management of any variants.
