The company CAP Holding S.p.A. has entrusted RTI with the task of drafting the final design and executive project "BEN-ESSERE Neighborhood - water and runoff pilot actions and related works," aimed at implementing hydraulic and hydrogeological invariance policies and reducing hydraulic risk conditions at the municipal scale. The intervention is part of a scenario of urban redevelopment and modernization of existing facilities, from the construction of the new BEN-ESSERE neighborhood to the arrangement and replanning of existing roads, preferring sustainable solutions with a view to future expansion and evolution of the area served.
The proposed interventions affect several areas in the municipality of Bresso (M.F. Ardeatine Street, future BEN-ESSERE neighborhood, North Park) and have been designed and discussed with key stakeholders. The project is characterized by the interaction of multiple disciplines involving: 1. Following the future closure of the road section of Via Villoresi and the construction of several buildings that will insist on the existing mixed water collection system: a. The reorganization of the existing mixed sewer system starting from the intersection of Via M. F. Ardeatine and Via E. Villoresi 2. The treatment of water falling in the parking area located near the Madonna della Misericordia Parish and site of the local city market, through the installation of a sludge separator and a coalescent oil separator. 3. The construction of a new two-way vehicular roadway, supplemented by a new bicycle and pedestrian path along M. F. Ardeatine Street, which will join Villoresi Street and XX Settembre Street. In particular, the bicycle-pedestrian path will continue beyond Via XX Settembre by entering Via Baracca, thus creating a new connection with the North Park. 4. The construction of a new lighting and traffic light system that will manage incoming flows from Via XX Settembre and Via M. F. Ardeatine. 5. The construction of bioretention areas dedicated to the collection of rainwater from Via M. F. Ardeatine, capable of treating first rainwater and delivering, as a priority, such water by infiltration into the subsoil (SuDS) and overflows to the Villoresi Canal detour (CB3 project chamber); 6. The construction of a detention/infiltration basin within the North Park area that will aim to infiltrate the water collected on site into the subsoil and avoid overloading the stormwater disposal system.
