The proposal for the Slow Food pavilion, at Expo Milano 2015, starts from the need to transform the concepts of sustainability and the philosophy of Slow Food into architectural structures. Hence the need for architecture with a simple layout that lets visitors immediately discover the pavilion's key concepts: the importance of agricultural and food biodiversity, the variety of products that are the protagonists of this biodiversity, and the need to become aware of how fragile this system is and to adopt new consumption habits to protect and defend it.
Three wooden structures, long and narrow buildings reminiscent of farmsteads typical of the Lombard landscape make up the designed pavilion. The layout delineates an interior courtyard that creates a convivial market atmosphere with tables that visitors can approach to discover plants and get information about biodiversity and the impact of current consumption habits.
